Runestone Musuem

Runestone Museum is located in Downtown Alexandria, just off the Central Lakes Trail by Big Ole. Trail users are welcome to use the restroom facilities. Find exhibits on Norse history, Native Americans, Minnesota wildlife and early pioneer life. There is also a hands-on children’s area.

Come and see the Kensington Runestone! This intriguing artifact, discovered in 1898, has had researchers studying it for over 100 years to determine a conclusive answer to the question of it’s authenticity.

Enter Fort Alexandria to tour several authentic log buildings, an 1880 country school house and even see a 40′ viking ship made by the Smithsonian.
